Missouri Grandons

> So this week has been different cause it was starting to rain and it wasn't fun at all. President was calling and texting all the biking missionaries to not go biking but to get a ride with some members, but we received no such call or text. So we went out trying to be good missionaries and it sucked. I only say that cause i fell and slid into a big puddle. I was so mad. So here's how it happened. Here in California the drive ways don't match up with the level of the street so when i was trying to merge off of the street to the side walk i tried to do it smoothly and it didn't work out well for me. We were going at a good pace too, and the bike slipped right out from under me and i hit the ground and slid into a big puddle. I got up as fast as i could and i didn't see any damage. so we kept going. Later, like a few days later, my neck was hurting and still kinda is hurting whenever i turn my head. So the only thing that i got besides my pride hurting was a cold and had to stay in Saturday and bad whiplash from hitting my head on the ground. Good thing i was wearing my helmet.

> I'm just lucky there was a missionary that had an extra rain coat and is letting me borrow it. Otherwise idk how sick i would have gotten. But other than that i had a pretty good week. We got to have a mission conference with Elder Hamula of the seventy and it was pretty good. Something that i got out it and that i need to realize in my own life is that our faith and belief in the gospel is a seed and will grow to be a magnificent tree but it takes time and so if we try to grow or sprout out too fast the winds of the world will pull us out of the ground. So plant your roots deep, in the gospel, and take the time to grow don't rush it too much. Take time to trim the tree, constructive criticism, and nurture your tree.

> Oh and because of the mission conference yesterday we have pday today. I just need to know how much i have on my personal card cause i need some new slacks and thats important to have?

> But other than that let Hannah know that im very proud of her for making the team. Volleyball is always something i wanted to do in school but they dont really have a male team in our school system yet. I would have really enjoyed it. I love playing volleyball on my mission and there are even some other missionaries that have played and its fun to play against them. Let Ben know that im proud of him too. And my advise on the power-lifting is that you need to let him decide for himself. Just leave him with some counsel of my mission president, "dont be stupid". Let him know that its good to be big especially if he wants to pursue football in the future but its also good to be healthy. But ultimately let him decide. Somethings you guys as parents need to help counsel with, but for this let him go. I learned that this Sunday that we are suppose to be finding some of our talents and maybe this is one of his. If you make him bury his talent and not develop it then we will never know what can come of him trying to develop his talents. We all have different talents like you can draw super good and mom can perform music very well, but you cant do moms talent for her and she cant do your. So its all about trying to spread our wings and fly with some of our talents. Even though we might fail, and fall, at somethings it doesn't matter. What matters is not how many times we fall its how many time we get back up and try again with something else. I know this isn't what you want to hear but what do you expect from a missionary who is learning the principle of the gospel.
